Market Harborough’s story spans the Middle Ages, the Civil War, and the Regency. The town’s heyday was as an important stopping place for the stagecoaches between London and Manchester, and the Three Swans Hotel was the principal coaching inn. The coming of the canals and the railways ended this, but the atmosphere remains. The site of the inn’s stabling is now their conference and wedding venue. The hotel is comfortable and homely, serving the town as it has for the last five hundred years.

Modern Market Harborough has excellent road and rail connections. The town centre has never been encumbered by town planning, and has a good collection of shops and cafes. The hotel has its own car park.
